Finally getting the hang of things.
I've submitted another painting, and starting to get a good feel on the ins & outs of female nudes via photoshop.
If you're visiting my profile for the first time or the fifth, you won't see much. However, I'll expound a little, in that this is all relatively new to me. Since coming across DA, I've been introduced to many new ideas and methods. Previously, as an oil and canvas artist, who dabbled in photography - all the while finding the female nude figure the most beautiful and artistic natural subject available. (Side note: I find trees an equal artistic element of nature, though evoking a much different, and perhaps less taboo emotion)
But I digress...
I do acknowledge that my tastes are not culturally accepted by the masses, but perhaps one could argue for hours on the aesthetics of what "art" is when addressing this subject. In fact I've seen many of these arguments in the threads on DA. Some unnecessarily crass, defeating any purpose of a reasonable argument.
Accepting that there are people whom exploit themselves or others in a pornographic manner, its easy to see how people find this style offensive at times. I firmly believe there is a line between artistic merit and pornography in this genre. My opinion may very well differ from others on where that line is drawn, and that's to be expected. However - and I hope others will agree - a camera phone picture of your nude anatomy does not constitute art, and it has no business being posted on DA as "art." There are other sites for things like that.
At any rate, please feel free to look through my submissions and favs. I'd only like to finish by noting that the pieces in my collections are gathered from artists on DA, for what I've found to be artistic in their own respects.
thanks for the read, and thanks for checking out my section.
